STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Our non-profit corporation in existence 40+ years, is conducting a search for a professional, full-time Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Department. Our mission is to provide services to Texas counties and unite counties to achieve better solutions. We also provide full accounting services for three county self-insurance risk pools. We offer a beautiful nonsmoking work environment with excellent benefits and opportunities for growth. Our offices are near the Capitol with free parking.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent. We need a self-starter with a minimum of 5 years experience in general accounting. Duties will include bank and general ledger account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, employee bank card accounting, and acting as backup to A/R Accountant. Must be able to effectively communicate with other staff members, outside auditors and bank personnel. Successful applicant will be accurate, thorough, organized, and detail-oriented. Must be proficient with Excel (intermediate level or above). Expertise in these areas will be valuable to us: insurance accounting and knowledge of insurance terms, non-profit accounting, governmental accounting, and Texas county government experience/knowledge.
Salary $40-44K, depends on experience

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE ACCOUNTANT

The ideal candidate will have completed some college level accounting courses or equivalent. A self-starter with a minimum of 5 years experience in invoicing and billing is a must. Duties will include invoicing, posting payments, preparing daily deposits, and working in multiple A/R systems. Must be able to effectively communicate with other staff members, customers, and bank personnel. Successful applicant will be accurate, thorough, organized, and detail-oriented. Must be proficient with Excel and Word. Insurance accounting experience and knowledge of insurance terms will be especially helpful to us, as will knowledge of county government in general. We use iMIS and Microsoft GP for A/R processing.
Salary $37-40K, depends on experience
